The Hola Mahalla exhibition will be taking place at south asian arts venue; Kala Sangam in Bradford from Wednesday 1 April through to 31 May 2015.

The exhibition has been put together by filmmaker and photographer Darshan Singh who travelled to Anandpur, India to capture the vibrant Sikh festival Hola Mahalla. The festival showcases the spiritual and warrior side of the Sikh faith through a series of events.

This documentary and exhibition offers an insight into a world rarely experienced.

Using prints and original artwork the exhibition illustrates how this colourfully unique festival is celebrated. The accompanying documentary gives the viewer a snapshot of the festival in all its glory, with skilled horseman and swordsman demonstrating ancient warrior techniques.

J.S. Dhanjal is an artist specialising in portrait painting, graffiti and airbrush murals.
